Homopolymer Acetal or Delrin is a great plastic for turning on a CNC lathe lathe. It is easy to turn, but it does require reduced speeds. I have used this stuff to make Scottish small pipes chanters. Between the Delrin and Acetal rods, both materials are very tough and easily machinable, as they have very similar physical properties.
